Saturday the 18th was the big pioneer celebration here in Snowflake! The parade was great this year and after we participated in our 4 year tradition of eating El Cupidos at our house! This year the Shumways, the Shaws, Larisa and Laura were all here! Ben put the jumper in the yard and all the kids got to bounce! Later in the day the girls were doing little skit dance things and called us out to watch. Bailey messed up a little so she bent backwards like she was doing a backbend (which she has done a million times) and landed wrong. I heard her bone make a snap noise and she screamed and ran behind the house. For some reason she always runs away if she is really hurt. I looked at Holly and said "She just broke her arm". Sure enough she did. When she came in it was sinking in the middle so I took her to the clinic in Show low to get x-rays and a splint.
We left the next day on our trip to Colorado to see Lynn and Cameo and their kids. On Tuesday we went to a really fun amusement / water park. Bailey was so bummed because she didn't get to go on very many rides but she tried to have a good attitude about it. She got really good at slipping on the rides or down playing her injury. Of course that was all her idea and had nothing to do with her parents and Aunt and Uncle coaching her on what to do and say! On Wednesday I woke up with a bubble on my lip and we decided I got sunburned. Emmie woke up throwing up. Everyone went to the Rockies/Diamondback game while I stayed home with Emmie and Ray. She was doing much better before they left but I didn't want her in the sun all day. Lynn got me a movie and we were just fine hanging out at the house. We went back to the amusement park the next day and had a blast! We let Bailey go on a lot more rides and even by the end let her take off her splint and go on a few water slides. She was much happier that day! On Friday morning while we were packing the car Ben opened his door, turned around to toss me a bag and when he turned around to get in, the door had closed slightly and he rammed into the door with his forehead. So there you have all our injuries and sicknesses for the week.
We had such a great vacation! We love to visit with Lynn and Cameo. We all just pick up like no time has passed at all and our kids get along sooo great! Their house was really nice and Cameo had it decorated so cute! We are keeping our fingers crossed that they will be moving back soon! We really miss them! Thanks guys for letting us come see you, taking us to the fun amusement park and for all the Good Times!
