We had been very careful all day to watch Emmie around all the tools and somehow Ben and I left the room at the same time for about 5 minutes when we heard Emmie cry. She had blood running all the way down her face but was mostly done crying when Ben got to her. She's such a tough girl! We just butterflied it and now it looks pretty good. Maybe a small scar but it is in her eyebrow so it shouldn't be too bad!

We refinished the hardwwod floor in our pretty room. Wow it was a lot of work! The job would have been big enough on its own but the last layer of carpet (yes there was two layers of carpet) was glued to the wood!! We (and by that I mean mostly Ben) spent many hours scraping and sanding the wood! It looks beautiful now and we have the original hardwood floors from over 100 years ago! How cool is that!!!

I have the best news ever!! My baby (almost 22 months old) is finally sleeping through the night!!!! I nursed all my other babies to a year give or take a month and had no problem weaning them. Then along came Emmerie. She is completley different from my other children. She hated sippie cups and would let her drink dribble down her chin. I started a cup with her at 5 months and thought she'll get used to it but she was almost 18 months before she decided she liked water. Not juice or milk. Only water. How can you take away a child's lifeline of milk. She would have starved at a year so I continued to nurse. She was nursing once or twice in the night and now has boob rot. Lovely!! I am proud to say that she is fully weaned and sleeping through the night in her own bed!! Wow it has been almost 2 1/2 years since I last slept through the night. Kids... gotta love 'em!! By the way she still hates milk!

Halloween
We had a really fun Halloween this year. We went trick or treating with Grandma Curtis, Aunt Laura, the Shumways and the other Johnson kids. We had two double strollers and a single and we still ended up carring some children. What a fun tiring night.

This is our brother in law Rick. He is the big bad wolf and his daughter Easton went as bloody little red riding hood.

but, she fell asleep in the stroller before she made it to the first house. Ben went to walk her to the door and her body was completley limp and asleep. So she rode in the stroller the rest of the night. Silly girl!

This is Carter's New room. It is in the attic. Ben did all the
woodwork, refinished the wood floor and even built Carter his bed.
Carter picked out blue stain for the wood. Now all he needs is a wall and a door to finish off his new space which he loves!!

We decided to try a blog to better keep in touch with our family and friends. We just moved into our new house about 4 weeks ago and we have been very busy!! It is 101 years old and is on 1/2 an acre. We have tons of flowers and trees. While moving in and fixing a few things we had to juice grapes and deal with a huge tree of apples. We have made applesauce and apple pie filling so far but still have 1/2 a tree of apples. It's a lot of work but it will be really nice to have these things on hand. Carter started 5th grade this year and ran for vice president. He didn't win but had a good time running. Bailey is in 4th grade and is taking violin lessons. Nolan is in 1st grade and plays soccer. Emmerie is 18 months old and is so much fun to have around. She has finally decided to start talking. Ben is working with the 11 year old scouts which works out nice for Carter. He is very busy at work, but he loves it. I'm just trying to keep up with unpacking, cleaning, canning, and working on projects around the house to make it our own! I'll try to update this often with pictures of the kids so check back every now and again. Also please leave messages or e-mail us at Melinda1037@gmail.com All our love
The Johnsons
